General Meeting

  • St. Paul's United Methodist Church 1700 North Meridian Road Tallahassee, FL, 32303 United States (map)

Announcing we have our first upcoming Tallahassee Watercolor
Society general meeting of the season this Sunday, September 15th, at 2:00 pm.
The meeting will be held at Saint Paul’s United Methodist Church, 1700 N.
Meridian Rd Tallahassee, FL 32303, in the Parlor.
Multi-talented and award-winning artist Mark Georgiades will be speaking at our
meeting.  He will talk about how he became interested and involved in art along
with his background and influences. He will describe how he goes about creating
a project from the idea to the finished project.
Havana, Florida based artist, Mark Georgiades has been honing his skills as a
sculptor and a painter for many years. He blends his skills as a mechanic and
his love of art to create his welded metal sculpture. Mark works with steel,
copper, and aluminum which is welded together to form his unique structure.
Mark’s inspiration comes from nature and fantasy. He likes to create edgy work,
usually distorting the size and proportion of his subjects. Mark uses color and
the illusion of motion to create “mood” within his sculptures.
While Mark has always been involved in his art to some extent in the past, he
has been focusing primarily on his art since 2014.
We look forward to seeing you there at the meeting and to a great year ahead!
