New Dates for Tom Lynch Online Workshop. You can still attend!

About the Workshop

I have designed an on-line workshop for the members of the Tallahassee Watercolor Society.

FIRST and Foremost, I want all to have a great time and to have this workshop motivate artists to paint more and much better. I will share with all I know about painting and provide many visuals to make this experience a great one.

We will use the ZOOM & YouTube format which will allow for a 2 camera presentation, with great close-ups and a terrific visual connection.  This process will allow me to see your artwork, offer suggestions, and answer your questions.  All that is needed is a computer with a camera, and an Internet connection.

Each student will be sent their special link prior to class!

Here is Tom's plan for a 4-day online workshop .. 10:30 to 5:30 Eastern Time.

DAY 1 ...

The 1st day we will paint several small paintings that will give you a visual example of the building blocks that I use to create a successful work of art.

 These lessons include ...

  • A painting on how to 'Think Like An Artist'

  • How to Start a Painting and the Stages to follow for Unity

  • A painting on how to paint "loose"

  • Spray Bottle Techniques & Brush Stroke Techniques

  • Color mixing and application

  • Value studies, and how to 'Prepare for Success'

I will be available "LIVE" ALL DAY for demonstrating, and to answer questions. I will demonstrate each lesson, then allow time for students to paint and ask questions, if needed.  We will take a one-hour break for lunch. In the afternoon we will continue painting these lessons together.

DAYS 2, 3 and 4 ...

On these days, the format will start with a live painting demonstration where you can see how the previous day's lessons are applied. I will complete a painting and again you can ask questions and interact with me with your questions.  You will see some great close-ups as you watch the painting evolve.

After the morning demo you will have time to paint on your own, either from your own subject or even copying the painting I just demonstrated. The morning demo will be able to be viewed again if you want.  This way you can press stop, rewind, fast forward, etc. We will come together again as a group "LIVE" at 4:30 where I can answer questions, review your work, and offer suggestions. Class will end at 5:30 or 6 pm.

During the last three days I want to share with you three different ways to create a painting ...

  1. The direct approach

  2. The colorful 1st wash approach

  3.  The 'WOW" factor first format

Again, there will be lots of

  • Visuals

  • Demonstrations

  • Close-ups

  • Workshop charts

  • Individual help

  • Personalized critiques

As a bonus for signing up to take this online workshop students will also receive...

  • A Q/A meeting via ZOOM prior to class

  • A bonus demo to watch at their leisure before class

  • Free access for a month to the website  www.artacademylive.com  where I and others provide over 350 video snippet lessons

  • A follow up ZOOM session  (1 1/2-hour meeting) 1 week later, where I can answer questions and offer additional help if students have any questions.

NOTE:   Class dates are June Workshop dates: 7, 8, 10 and 11 (skip the 9th).

July Workshop Dates: 26,27,29,30TH (skip the 28th)

That is a Monday and Tuesday, (I skip Wednesday so students can get caught up), and Thursday and Friday.

Stay safe, I will see you in class. ...

PS. Prior to class I will send a supply list and information where students can get ... the 'DOT' spray bottles (purple & yellow tops), a few special tubes of paint and Fabriano paper, if needed.
